About Arshia Qasim
It is easier to introduce one with titles, but titles are limiting.
Every story has a begining, middle and an end, not necessarily in that order. I am a neruologist, artist, poet and writer, and yet I don't know if there is an order to these roles. Perhaps they are the walls thatdefine my space, perhaps they are the axes that provide dimensions of possibilities.
I have taken my passion for the arts and for medicine hand in hand and experienced life through the bifocal lense thus provided. Having used art as therapy for neurological rehabilitation in conditions like Brain Injury, Stroke, and several cognitive disorders, as well as neuro-psychiatric afflictions, I was well versed with the role of art as a medium of expression, impression, catharsis and growth. On the other hand, being an artist myself, I was well aware of the limitations and expanse of the medium of art.
At this point in life, I decided to display my art as an extension of the person that I have become, that I wish to become and that I have always been.
